Florida Neonatal Pediatric Transport Network Association Meeting Minutes

 

        April 17, 2002

 

        St. Petersburg Beach, Florida

 

1.  Meeting called to order at 4:10 pm by Louise Bowen, President.  Meeting is being held in         conjunction with the All Children’s Hospital Neonatal Pediatric Transport Conference due to the central location, promote the organization to programs within and out‑of‑state, increase membership, and educate organizations about the State of Florida EMS system and the FNTNA.  A poster presented made by Louise Bowen has been displayed during the conference.  T‑shirts and tank shirts are being sold at the conference.

 

2.  January meeting minutes were approved.  Minutes will also be available on the web site and at the July meeting due to decrease attendance at current meeting.

 

New Business:

 

1.  Michelle Kenly will be assuming the position of President of the Florida Chapter of the Air and Surface Nurses Association in July.  The organization is not just for air programs.  Ground transport programs are encouraged to join.

 

2.  The web site will cost each organization $120.00.   Please send items for the FNTNA web page to Maria Fernandez.

 

3.  Discussed the EMS guidelines and regulations regarding temperature control of medications and narcotic storage in vehicles.

 

4.  Michelle Kenly discussed Bayflite’s preparation for CAMTS accreditation.

 

Old Business:

 

1.  There is an opening on the EMS Advisory Council for an Air Ambulance Operator.  A letter was sent in support of Jim Howard and John Scott.  Jerry Pagano and Bart (from Fire Star) are also interested in the position.

 

2.    This organization will be sponsoring an APA/AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Course at ClinCon in July.   Louise Bowen will coordinate the program and is seeking NRP Instructors.  Please contact Louise if you are interested.

 

3.  Nancy Burke presented a draft of the FNTNA Transport Team Directory.  The directory was reviewed and will be presented at the July meeting.
