Called meeting to order.
2)
Johnny Delgato (President of FAMA) started the meeting
in the following order:
a)
Introduction of Beth Brunner from the Florida College of
Emergency Physicians. Beth presented the proposed plans for the Emergency
Medicine Learning Center. The center is a 4 million-dollar project that will be
located near the Orlando airport on 5 acres with a cost estimation of 4 million
dollars. The intent of the center is to support education for all of Florida’s
Emergency Medical Services. Beth indicated donor support would help facilitate
this project and requested the support of FAMA and ASTNA to advertise this
project.

3)
John Scott (President of ASTNA) followed with the
following items:
a)
Introduction of David Summers to update the associations
of Web Site activities. Currently a web server has been purchased at a cost of
$360.00. It has been proposed and supported that the cost will be shared
between the three associations (FAMA, ASTNA, and Fl Neonatal Assn.). This site
is currently in operation and will be updated often with new material. David
would like to thank Scott Wolf for the initial work done on putting together a
Web site and has asked for ASTNA to fund a gift certificate as a token of our
gratitude. He will also be presented with a certificate of appreciation.
b)
David will be posting positions for upcoming elections
in July for FAMA and ASTNA. ASTNA will be posting for President Elect and
Secretary Treasurer and FAMA is posting for President.
c)
Notice was given to the body regards name change from
Fl Chapter of the National Flights Nurses Association to the Fl Chapter of the
Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association (effective1/28/02).
d)
Candidates for the Upcoming vacancy positions on the
EMS Advisory Council must be submitted by May 1st. Letters of support for the four candidates
recognized at the last meeting are to be mailed out by FAMA and ASTNA prior to
May 1st.
