Still discussing flight crew definition which would mean that medical crew would have duty times dictated as well as required drug testing. FAA to listen to input before making any decisions. Will be out on the street by March 1, 2004. ЗNew 64E language: Dr. Shatz from Miami-Dade discussed the re-write for 64E. There will be a limitation of tables (equipment checklists) and more emphasis placed on quality outcome. Also, the requirement for initial Air Worthiness certificates will commence on January 1, 2004. ЗOld Business Randy Pierce reported that the State’s EMS Communication Plan is completed and available on their website. It includes a change from the current 25mhz system to a 12.5mhz system. The replacement costs are estimated at $1.2 million. By Dec 2004, it is expected that EMS radios will be re-programmed or replaced. Once this is done, aircraft will not have the ability to communicate on EMS frequencies. 155.340 (Air Secondary) is a required frequency. Johnny has done research on developing a statewide CISM team. Possibility of joining in with on a regional level with AAMS. Idea to ask programs to contribute money to a trust fund. Several ideas of coordination presented.
