 About the Award

Specific to the Florida Chapter National Flight Nurses Association, the Beth Rogers award came about in 1994 to recognize the dedication and achievements of Florida air and ground transport members who have demonstrated enhancement of their profession through skill, participation, and support of excellence in patient care.

The criteria for the award are:

  • An active member of ASTNA
  • Minimum of two (2) years active service in the transport nursing industry
  • Active role in continuing education
  • Contributions or innovations in the industry
  • Available to non-management level transport personnel

This award is to recognize the Transport Nurse who participates in either:

  • Rotor Wing Service
  • Fixed Wing Service
  • Ground Transport Service

Beth Rogers was a well-respected flight nurse who, in 1994, succumbed to Cancer. As an organization, we initiated and presented the first award to her family at the Clin-Con Conference in Orlando in July 1995 for her service and contributions to the industry in flight nursing. The award has been titled in her memory.

She is an invaluable resource of information.
